We sampled the wild bird for the avian influenza virus (AIV) in the second half year of 2004. We got 263 blood sera, 337 swabs. The method of agar gel precipitation(AGP)and hemagglutination inhibitory (HI) was adopted in sera detection. The chicken embryo culture was adopted in virus detection. The results showed: 1) One case of H9 in garganey (Anas querquedula) and one case of H5 in chukar (Alectoris chukar) were detected. 2) The positive rate of blood sera of H5 was up to 97.7% and that of H9 was 98.5%.
