H5N1,a novel avian influenza virus, can infect human directly. In this study, the DNA fragment of H5N1 avian influenza HA gene, antigen determinant, was transferred into tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum cv.) via leaf-discs of Agrobacterium-mediated.Total 38 transgenic plants were regenerated. It was demonstrated that the fragment of H5N1 HA gene had been integrated into the genome of tobacco by PCR and Southern-blotting.The proteins expressed in transgenic plants had immunogenicity by Western-dotting analysis.
