GUO Xiao-ling; CUI Hong; WANG Yu; ZHANG Guo-gua. Expression of H5N1HA Gene of an Avian Influenza Virus in Tobacco. Journal of Xiamen Univeristy(Natural Science)
H5N1,a novel avian influenza virus, can infect human directly. In this study, the DNA fragment of H5N1 avian influenza HA gene, antigen determinant, was transferred into tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum cv.) via leaf-discs of Agrobacterium-mediated.Total 38 transgenic plants were regenerated. It was demonstrated that the fragment of H5N1 HA gene had been integrated into the genome of tobacco by PCR and Southern-blotting.The proteins expressed in transgenic plants had immunogenicity by Western-dotting analysis.
