Outbreaks of H5N1 Avian Influenza (AI) emerged in Indonesia, Thailand and Viet Nam during 2003- 2005. Its severe impact has been reported; the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and World Bank (WB) estimated that Viet Nam lost up to 1.8% of GDP (1). Since then the country reported over 3000 H5N1 poultry outbreaks (2) and 127 human H5N1 cases and 64 dead.
