China: H5N1 outbreak reported in Turpan city of Xinjiang province

The MOA confirmed a outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in Turpan city of Xinjiang Province, where 11 birds died. The reference lab of MOA confirmed H5N1 outbreak in the site today.
China´s Ministry of Agriculture on Thursday confirmed one bird flu outbreak in Turpan city of northwest China´s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The Ministry said in a statement that 11 fowls died last Thursday in Turpan and they were confirmed by a state avian flu lab as H5N1 subtype highly pathogenic bird flu cases.
The ministry and local government are handling the outbreak in accordance with the emergency plans. Local veterinary departments have culled 5,180 poultry within three kilometers of the affected area.
