"Whether or not her death was because of bird flu, we will waitbefore confirming, as is standard, from a laboratory in Hong Kong where her blood samples were sent to. The results would be known in about six days," Antara news agency quoted Nyoman as saying.
The 37-year-old woman died at a private hospital in South Jakarta on Saturday evening after being admitted there on Sept. 6 with what was thought to be acute pneumonia, Nyoman said.
Minister of Health Siti Fadhilah Supari declined to give any statements to reporters, promising to give a press conference on Monday.
An auditor and his two young daughters died in July in Tangerang district just southwest of Jakarta. The government has said that infected chicken droppings were the likely cause of those deaths.
Jakarta launched a massive vaccination drive against the disease, but has been criticized for carrying out only a limited cull.
The World Health Organization requires that poultry within a radius of three kilometers from any bird flu outbreak should be killed.
