On 29 September, 2026, APHIS reported 43 live wild birds collected from 17 September to 18 September in 2026 (Mallard) tested positive for EA H5 HPAI strain in (Macomb(26), Ingham(12), Ottawa(5)) counties, Michigan.
On 29 September, 2026, APHIS reported 1 dead wild birds collected on 20 September in 2026 (Bald eagle) tested positive for EA H5 HPAI strain in Emmet county, Michigan.
