UK: Bird flu (avian influenza): latest situation

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed at a fifth premises near Penicuik, Scottish Borders (AIV 2026/08) on 24 January 2026. A 3km protection zone and 10 km surveillance zone are in place. All poultry on the premises will be humanely culled.
