China: Human infections with avian influenza (H9N2) in February 2025

There are 4 new cases of human infection with H9N2 avian influenza nationwide, an increase of 2 cases compared to the same period last year. The four cases are from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (2 cases), Guangdong Province, and Tianjin City (1 case each). All cases are sporadic and were found in hospital visits. Among them, 3 cases had a clear history of exposure to domestic poultry before the onset of the disease, and the source of infection in 1 case is still under investigation.
