Epidemiology
Source of the outbreak(s) or origin of infection: unknown or
inconclusive

Epidemiological comments: The dead duck was picked up on the roadside
in Yunlin County. The sample was confirmed by Animal Health Research
Institute (AHRI). Highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N2 subtype was
confirmed. Thorough cleaning and disinfection have
been conducted in neighboring areas. Surrounding poultry farms within
a 3 km [1.8 mi] radius of the infected region are under intensified
surveillance for 3 months.

containment and/or the protection zone; surveillance outside
containment and/or the protection zone; disinfection
