Epidemiological comments Active epidemiological surveillance has been established in Mexico as well as a (passive) notification system. These two strategies have identified two outbreaks, located in the region of low prevalence in which vaccination against the H7N3 avian influenza virus is applicable subject to prior authorisation by SENASICA.
