Epidemiological comments

On 28 November 2017, a poultry farm´s owner in Kos Svay village (Tropang Preah commune, Prey Chhor district) reported sick and dead chicken to the Provincial Animal Health and Production Office (PAHPO). PAHPO tasked district veterinarians with verifying the cases. During that time, district veterinarians collected four samples on chicken from the farm and sent them to the National Animal Health and Production Research Institute (NAHPRI) to confirm the diagnosis in a laboratory. On 6 December 2017, the NAHPRI confirmed the positive result for H5N1.
