China: Shandong reported one human H7N9 AIV fatal case in Liaocheng

According to the authority, Liaocheng city reported one human H7N9 AIV fatal case on 12th May. The 41-year-old male patient, surname Liu, resident of Guotun town of Yanggu county of Liaocheng city. He worked in a local live poultry processing enterprise, job description as hanging the live chickens onto the hook of the automatic processing line. He had history of hypertension and chronic cough,obesity. The patient had symptoms such as fatigue, fever,headache on the afternoon of 7th May and went to a local clinic in Guotun town for treatment. With no improvement of the initial treatment, he was admitted into Liaocheng city people´s hospital respiratory unit and diagnosed as unknown pneumonia case on 11th May. On the night of 11th May,.his sample tested positive for H7N9 by influenza reference lab and the result were confirmed by provincial CDC on the morning of 12th May, he died on 12th May. Close contacts of the patient are under medical monitoring.
The epidemiological investigation revealed the patient´s routine job required live poultry contact(he had been worked in this job position for one year and a half); And he bought two chicken (lived or processed remained unknown) on 29th April, 8 days prior to the onset of his symptoms.
