Epidemiological comments |
An additional case in a wild bird: A dead Anas platyrhynchos (mallard) was collected on 14 January 2015 and tested against avian influenza virus. It was confirmed on 19 January 2015 that the bird was infected with H5N8 influenza A virus. The result of gene sequencing indicated that a HA cleavage site of the amino acid sequence was consistent with that of highly pathogenic avian influenza virus. Follow-up information on the outbreak in poultry in Yamaguchi reported in the follow-up report No.8: On 23 January 2015, the movement restriction (3km radius around the affected farm) was lifted since 21 days had passed without any new outbreaks after control measures including stamping out had been completed on 1 January 2015. Follow-up information on the outbreak in poultry in Okayama reported in the follow-up report No.10: On 23 January 2015, control measures including disinfection of the affected premises were completed. Follow-up information on the outbreak in poultry in Saga reported in the follow-up report No.11: On 20 January 2015, control measures including disinfection of the affected premises were completed. | |
