Three new cases were reported from Britain, two from Spain and two from Finland, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) said in its daily situation report.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases of the A/H1N1 flu virus in the EU (European Union) and EFTA (European Free Trade Association) countries increased to 217, with 100 cases in Spain, 68 in Britain, 13 in France and 12 in Germany, the ECDC said.
The first two A/H1N1 cases reported in Finland were both travel-related in Mexico. All three new cases reported in Britain were related to previous confirmed cases, which bring the total number of confirmed cases due to in-country transmission to 49 in the region, the ECDC added.
The ECDC publishes a daily situation report about A/H1N1 flu cases in the EU and EFTA countries based on official information from these countries.
