China: Buzzard confirmed H5N1-positive in Hong Kong

The dead buzzard found on Lantau Island has been confirmed H5N1-positive, the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department says.
The carcass was found December 17 at Sha Lo Wan. There are no chicken farms within 3km of where the bird was found. The bird is a common winter visitor to Hong Kong.
The department reminds people to observe good personal hygiene, to avoid personal contact with wild birds or live poultry and to clean hands thoroughly after coming into contact with them.
