Egyptian girl infected with bird flu: WHO (Reuters)

CAIRO (Reuters) - A 10-year-old girl from southern Egypthas been infected with the deadly H5N1 bird flu virus, and isin "very critical" condition, a World Health Organisationofficial said on Friday.

"There is a new human case just reported by the Ministry ofHealth. She is a 10-year-old female. She has a history ofcontact with backyard birds," said John Jabbour, an officialwith the World Health Organisation in Cairo.
